Woodspirit Walking and Hiking Sticks
Are hand worked and hand carved art Forms that have been crafted from driftwood tree branches from the Truckee River between Truckee, California and Reno, Nevada, and the many lakes and rivers of Tennessee. Many have traveled great distances and several have been submerged in its cold waters for a number of years. Individual characteristics formed by the water, banks, and stones during its sojourn have been left in place to keep the character and personality intact. The Carvings have been chosen by the Spirit of the Stick. Charlie hand works each stick after drying and care, and then studies the stick to gain its “wood spirit” before carving.

Wood Spirit Sticks

Each stick is unique and one of a kind (save for the characteristic spiral hand-hold). After carving, each stick is treated in one of many hand finishes to enhance the woods beauty and character. Finally, each Woodspirit is individually numbered and signed before the final finish. Charlie maintains a log of the location and condition of each stick re-claimed and will eagerly share the history of your stick if interested. Have a special need or request for a custom stick? While each stick receives it’s “spirit” carving, Charlie will consider adding custom carvings or treatments upon request. Charlie,
Please accept my humble apology for the delay in thanking you for the BEAUTIFUL pieces of art you made for us!  It is difficult to comprehend the time and thought put into each.  For you to take the time to do those for us is even more special.  I have always loved Indian history, so these are very special.  We are looking for a special way to display them.  Presently, they are in an umbrella holder beside our grandfather clock in the foyer so that anyone who comes through our door may marvel at their beauty.  You have a tremendous talent that is very much appreciated by our household!  These pieces of art are priceless to me.  Again, thank you for taking time to make them for us and to personally bring them to us.

My best to you!

Judy
